The 22nd annual Krycklan Symposium took place on September 24th 2025 in P-O Bäckströms sal, at the SLU Forest Faculty, Umeå. The event included talks and discussions on forest and water systems in the context of a changing climate, with sessions designed to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration. The event was hosted by the Department of Forest Ecology and Management at SLU.
Dr James Kirchner of ETH Zürich was the first Keynote speaker of the day. He was awarded the King Carl XVI Gustaf guest professorship of environmental sciences at SLU in 2025, and gave a talk on the Instructive surprises in the hydrological functioning of landscapes.
