How do farmers deal with the direct and indirect impacts of the war?

On Wednesday 17th Sep professors Roman Kulibaba and Sergiy Ruban at the National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine gave an open lecture in Ultuna on the impact of the war on Ukrainian farmers with a focus on the dairy sector.

The initial onslaught of the Russian invasion in 2022 caused widespread destruction in Ukraine and the subsequent retreat by Russian forces in Northern Ukraine revealed widespread abuse of both humans and animals.

With the war ongoing and Russian reliance on terror bombings there remain many challenges Ukrainian farmers need to deal with on a daily basis

Sergiy and Roman visited Sweden as a part of the Dairy Information Systems project funded by the Swedish Institute Baltic Neighbourhoud programme in a collaboration between Tomas Klingström (SLU, Sweden), Viktor Smolii (NULES, Ukraine), Ignas Šilinskas (LSMU, Lithuania) and Morten Kargo (AU, Denmark).
